ENT3003 is an interesting course that opens your
mind to a different way of thinking; an entrepreneurs’ frame of
mind. Throughout the first 2 months of this course I have definitely reassessed
my organizational skills, using my calendar’s, agendas and constant phone
reminders to remind me of the many assignments we have due every week. I have
also been more aware of time management and constant dedication to deliver.
Truly, I struggle keeping up to
date with the course, it is hard to balance all of the assignments, their
details and the load from my other classes. I have become more tenacious with
the course due to a few of the assignments that have really sparked my interest
in becoming an entrepreneur. What has pulled me through my “giving up” stage
was simply, the knowledge that I will gain about myself ad about real entrepreneurship
issues through the many assignments, also the fact that in less than a year I
will be graduating!
From the very beginning of the course make
sure you are thorough in reading the syllabus, fulfilling the detailed assignments,
and the many steps you must take in submitting each assignment. Fostering your
skills that support your tenacity throughout the course will improve over time.
Once you are aware of the load of the course along with what Professor Pryor
expects of you and your work, becoming organized comes natural, on a need
basis. As for developing a “tenacious mindset”, be mindful of your goal in the
course, set your goal and accomplish it. Another tip I can offer in developing
the mindset is embracing the assignments, try to apply assignments to your
day-to-day activities, as in, learning how to access your day like an entrepreneur.

Hello Aviana!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you when you said that this is an interesting course that opens your mind up to a different way of thinking. I have learned things about me and life in general with this course. We definitely have acquired the same behaviors with this class. Congratulations with graduating soon. I will be graduating this year as well! You have great tips to offer. I believe thinking like an entrepreneur is exactly one of the elements we are learning in this class. There was nothing that I could disagree with you on. Great reflection! You should check out my reflection on my blog at: http://entuf.blogspot.com/2016/02/half-way-reflection.html. We have a lot of things in common!
Aviana,
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to the reassessment of one's organizational skills. I was at a point where it would be 9:10 pm on a Sunday night and I totally missed out on 3 points worth of easy assignments. Now I place reminders on my phone so I don't miss any more!
