Week 7 - Elevator Pitch No. 2

Overall, I received positive feedback from my classmates, wishing I would see my concept through. I appreciated the feedback I received especially an individual referring to my concept as a movement, not just a product and a service. I did not receive any criticism or “wrong or “silly” remarks. I firmly believe that all feedback is recognizable and such be taken into account because of individuality and opinion.
Based on the feedback I received, I fixed the prompt slightly to speak more about my product and service, and I changed the way I delivered my pitch. I used a calk board and wrote my core values and went on to speaking to an “interested investor.”

  1. Hi Aviana,
First of all, I like the unique format in which you pitched your idea in front of a peer. It was creative and offered some different options as far as interactivity is concerned.
A critique I would like to offer is that, as a viewer, I really didn't learn what your idea was. I get that the program is supposed to provide healthy food for students, but how? You don't need to go into detail about it, but I think everyone would say kids eating healthier is a good thing, what we lack is the plan to implement. As an investor, I want to know pretty specifically how my money is being spent.

  2. Hi Aviana,

I really like your idea here! When doing research on this topic in the future, I suggest checking out some student meal systems in other counties such as Japan and throughout Europe. There is a huge push to provide healthier meals to students around the world. In the future, I would suggest trying to either memorize your speech, and print the speech out in huge font and have it off camera. Keep up the good work! 3. Hi Aviana! I liked your enthusiasm and format of presenting in front of a peer! I think it would be powerful to start with the question you asked about if their health and children's health is important to them. This will get the person thinking about this right off the bat. It was a little hard to understand your exact idea so maybe format that better so it is quickly addressed right away. I think it would also be good to practice without note cards as we won't be able to use them in the real world. Great job! 4. Great idea Aviana! I love it! I also liked how you presented to a peer instead of speaking straight to the camera. That was very creative. I would say maybe try to refrain from using note cards next time and giving your "investor" your full and undivided attention. Eye contact with them at all times is very important during pitches. I will also say that you should probably wear more formal attire next time. You should also go into more detail for your next pitch. How are you planning on doing all of this? What is your plan? Other than that, I think it's a great idea that has a lot of potential. Thank you for sharing! Check mine out at http://summerborges.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html
